6-4-Sunday 6/24/12

And yet another six sentences for the scene from Ancient Blood: The Amazon.  This completes most of this scene -- well, of course, there is a lot more that I left out but gives you a hint.  Next week I'll do a different section from the book.

--------------------------------------------

“Yes, I am vrykolakas,” he whispered and leaned into her offering. He inhaled deeply the scent of her blood as it pulsed in the jugular vein just below the soft skin and felt the pressure of his canine teeth grow. She winced with pain, her eyes wide open as his gleaming fangs sunk into her throat. As the virginal essence of her life flowed into his greedy throat, her moans of pleasure filled the scene of carnage. With the new blood flowing through his body, he became aroused and plunged into her, taking her virginity in the throes of sexual ecstacy.

A twig snapped only a few yards from where they stood.

6-4-Sunday 6/17/12

Here's another segment from last week's scene.  I hope you find it interesting.

-------------------------------------------------

With a malicious smile, she dropped her weapons and snaked one hand around his neck to his shoulder. Her left knee traced a delicious line up his his leg, then slipped around his thigh. The female fighters closed their circle as their leader wrapped herself around the stranger. With her free hand, she untied a small knot at the small of her back and the golden loin patch fell to the ground.

“You are vrykolakas,” she whispered into his ear, nipping him once again, this time drawing a bead of blood. She leaned her head back, her graceful neck curving upward toward the rising sun.

6-4-Sunday 6/10/12

Today's offering is from a soon-to-be-published novel with a current working title of "Ancient Blood: The Amazon." This is a vampire story taking place in the Amazonian jungle today but actually starts over 500 yrs ago with Conquistador Orellana's expedition to locate cinnamon and the city of El Dorado.

--------------------------------------------------
The leader of the attacking group was tall, lanky and much whiter than many of her shorter and darker sisters-in-arms. Her thick, black hair was tightly braided and coiled on the top of her head like a forest snake. The woman's eyes were intense beyond her years, her shoulders thick and muscled. She wore only a triangular patch of leather over her private parts. The hand-tooled leather of an ornate yellow sun glistened in the filtered sunlight.

From a tangled mass of death, a hand shot out and latched onto her ankle.

6-4-Sunday 6/3/12

Here's another small segment from my current WIP.  Now we meet Daniel, an Amish boy. This is part of confrontation between him and his father about attending school.

-----------------------------------------

"I would like to inform Mr. Sullivan at the carpenter shop I won't be working any more this year."

Noah Yoder cocked an eyebrow at his son but otherwise kept a basic stoic image. The silence loomed in the air and Daniel began to fidget.

"You want to attend high school; is that what I am hearing?"

"Yes, papa."  Daniel held his head up but did not stare into his father's eyes; instead he gazed at the books on the distant shelf.

6-4-Sunday 5/27/12

I remembered early enough this time to get signed up for SixSunday.  Again, I offer you another six sentences from my latest WIP --

_____________________________________

Julie Bronson carefully examined the letter one more time, verified the address then carefully pulled her silver blue and white 1957 Chevy onto the barely visible gravel driveway.  She glanced over at the small trailer and wrinkled her nose.  From the highway it had appeared narrow; now beside it, there was no doubt, the trailer was extremely small.

Remember, Julie, you wanted this job -- if this is the worst they can throw at you, you'll make it, she thought then let out a loud sigh. She considered her journey here today starting with Willoughby Baptist Church and a tearful family farewell followed by the lonely five hour drive through the state to this small community. Centertown was basically an overly inhabited cross-roads of two highways with a dozen businesses and perhaps a hundred homes.

6-4-Sunday 5/20/12

I really need to get my act (aka mind) together and remember to sign up each week for SixSunday.  So, here is my offering this week.  A new story in progress...

--------------------------------------------------------

The year was 1961 and the Board of Education for Benjamin Hart High School met to finalize things for the new school year. The late July heat hung in the air for the want of a breeze. Tempers flared to match the outside temperatures.

"I don't give a damn, I see no reason to have a n****r working with our kids."

John Teegarden banged the gavel down repeatedly to get the group to silence. "Elizabeth Tremussen has the floor, gentlemen."

6-4-Sunday 5/13/12

Time for another 6 sentences -- again, from my novella which can be read at Wattpad in its entirety

-----------------------------------

"It would appear they are fumbling with the boggle on the do-whacker."  She looked up at me and waited.

"Boggle? Do-whacker?" I pointed at the picture.  "Are those scientific terms for this?"

6-4-Sunday 5/6/12

New Sunday already. Wow!  How Time flies.  I hope you are enjoying these six sentence segments.  This one is just a little insight into our hero Barry Hargrove.  You can read my novella from which this came at Wattpad.

----------------------------------------------------------

By the time he'd told me where we were headed he was shoving the frosted double glass doors open. I wandered into the room and quickly realized it to be a maze of absolute horror for any person with aichmophobia, let alone trypanophobia, which I had.  There were too many pointed objects and needles everywhere; but it was the medical procedures involving what I could only guess to be volunteer patients that scared me the most. I gazed at arms stretched out with IVs and other apparatus; tubing ran in every direction: some red, some clear. My body stiffened, a chilling curl crawled down my spine and then the sweats began in drastic contrast to the shivers.

"Are you okay," Dr. Landelli asked and grabbed my arm in a useless gesture as my body fell away.

6-4-Sunday 4/29/12

This is sort of fun... just a few sentences to tease you.  Again, from my novella which can be read at Wattpad in its entirety.

-------------------------------------------

Then the picture came up; it showed Landelli and five other people.  The enlarger expanded the image and I hit the PRINT button.  Along the bottom of the image were the names of the people in the picture: (l to r) James Harbinger, Marvin Landelli, Joyce Brenner, Timothy Ebersole & Jack Nusbaum.  Four more people, two men and two women, milled in the background but obviously, for purposes of the photo opportunity, weren't important.  Two of the men were manipulating something which I hadn't noticed in the smaller image.  It only became apparent when the picture was enlarged.

6-4-Sunday 4/22/12

Another Sunday; another six (6) sentences.  Again, this is from my novella; Barry Hargrove and the Case of Eternal Blood which can be found at Wattpad

--------------------------------------------------

I was caught off-guard by the sudden change in Marvin.  One minute, a scared, mousey type character and now he sat in front of me, totally in command.

"A nervous breakdown, eh?" I eyed him warily.

"I didn't say nervous, detective.  Are you sure you're as good as you claim?"

I'm only allowed 6 (six) sentences. Here is my selection for today offered from chapter 1 of a novella (Barry Hargrove and the Case of Eternal Blood) I am developing and currently available to read at Wattpad

----------------------------------

"Please help me," the boy's voice whispered through the phone. It was the young kid again. "My name is Marvin and–"

"Marvin! Put that..." CLICK.

6 Sentence Sunday

At the pushing of a friend I decided to create a blog for what they call "Six Sentence Sunday" which is sort of a neat concept.

You offer just six sentences to the public. They can be newly written for the event or from some work, either in progress or published.

I think I can find enough stuff to offer six sentences each Sunday and I hope you enjoy them and either purchase the book or at least go read the whole short story or whatever.  Yes, it might even be poetry.

Today is Wednesday, April 11, 2012 and the first post will be up by 9am this coming Sunday, the 15th.

Until then...
